Welcome to the Half Marathon at the Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival!
Race-Day Information Sheet (please read)

**T-SHIRTS DID NOT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR US TO SHIP THEM WITH BIBS. SHIRTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RUNNERS TO PICK UP AT THE FINISH LINE**

**YOUR GPS DEVICE WILL NOT BE ACCURATE ON THE TRAIL! The course snakes through the Lehigh Gorge. We have found that NO GPS device is accurate. It will make you think the course is long. It is not. We have measured it by hand (or foot, really) multiples times with certified measuring devices.

ALL RUNNERS START AT 8 AM. There will be loose starting corrals. Please line up behind the sign with your anticipated finishing time. 

Directions: The race will start and finish in the Carbon County Municipal Parking Lot next to the Jim Thorpe Train Station. Enter “Jim Thorpe Municipal Parking” or “12 Lehigh Ave, Jim Thorpe” into your GPS device

Parking: You can pre-pay for premium parking next to the start/finish area by CLICKING HERE. If you have not pre-paid for parking at the train station lot, you will park in our free shuttle lot at the Jim Thorpe High School (1 Olympian Way, Jim Thorpe PA). The last shuttle to the starting area leaves at 7:40 am.

Pacers: We currently have half marathon pacers for finishing times of 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, and 2:15. We are working on adding a 2:30 pacer. 

Hydration/Fuel: We will have stations roughly every two miles. Every station will have a first aid kit for basic needs and water. Every other station will have UCAN hydrate.

DO NOT DISCARD ANYTHING ON THE TRAIL: Trash cans will be available roughly 75 yards past every water station Please ensure that your trash makes it into one of the trash cans!

Portable Toilets: The Lehigh Gorge Trail is a remote trail through the beautiful wilderness. Restrooms will be limited. They will be located at the start/finish and at miles 2 and 11.

Spectating Spots: Spectators can safely watch runners pass through the Glen Onoko parking area at Lehigh Gorge State Park in Jim Thorpe (miles 2 and 11) and at the start/finish area.

Bag Drop: There is no bag drop for the half marathon. Parking is right next to the starting area. Those who do not drive will be allowed to place a small bag under the RUNegades’ table at their own risk.

Running Surface: The trails are wide, smooth hard-pack. They are former railroad lines.

Public on Trail: The half marathon takes place on the public Lehigh Gorge trail. Please be respectful of any and all bikers, hikers, dog-walkers, etc.     

Post-Race Whistle Stop: Three establishments in downtown JT have signed on as official post-race whistle stops! They'll be open as soon as you finish your race and two are offering specials for runners with medals or bibs!
